In Memory of Fr. Victor Rophael O.A.M

14/10/2008

Today we have lost a pioneer in the Coptic Church as Fr. Victor has left this mortal world for the paradise of joy that he has been longing for. Please share your condolences for and memories or stories of Abouna Victor, I will pass this address on to the family so they will be able to read your messages.

R.I.P Abouna Victor.

May the Lord repose your soul my dear Father.
You were one whom all depended on.
You taught your children great faith that moves mountains.
You visited the sick, during times when you were sick.
You carried the cross patiently and never complained.
You put a smile on all the time, where deep inside you were in pain.
You encouraged your children to follow their faith and be strong.
You have ran the race and kept the faith.
I love you from all my heart, and will always remember the great things you have done for me. When I was cast down and hurt you were always there for me.
When I had no one near, you were always there to comfort me.
I will always remember you and put you in my heart. May the Lord rest your soul, and give you rewards that you deserve. Thank you for being my Father.
Please remember me and my family in your prayers.

Your servant John Hanna

Dearest Fr Victor,

Who can imagine the church without you? You have been a dear father to all of us, and will remain so forever. I don't think the tears shed for you now can be counted, because each of us felt your personal care. I personally was always amazed how you remembered dates, jokes, and little details, and never missed a beat in making each person feel like a part of the flock.

I also loved ur talks, u are more motivational than anyone, and i will miss the beautiful smile you had on your face when i told you so.

I will also never forget how hard you worked for the church, and for how long, and the advice u gave me about never taking problems inside u, but straight to the Lord. This advice is now for me to keep, and you to forget, because where you are going there are no more problems, and finally no more pain. May the Lord give you rest from all your labour, and give your loved ones comfort.

We love you, and will miss you dearly Abouna, although i am sure that each time i come to St Mark's, i will feel your presence, hear your voice, and see your smile.

Please keep us in your prayers, that we may all meet again in the Lord.

Love, your son and daughter
Amir and Michelle

I can't begin to describe the sorrow, pain and emptiness that has filled my heart at the news of your passing. Father I've known you for 20 years which is a life-time. You've been to my birthdays, conducted my wedding, baptised my children, you've always been a pinnacle in my life. So hard is the pain of being separated from you dear Father, but I know that you're in a much better and a much happier place now, which you have longed for. I still can't believe I wont see your amazing warm smile around St. Mark's - the church just will not be the same without you Father. Please pray for us Father that Our Lord may give us the strength to get through this hard time and that we may be joined with you in paradise. Till then I'm really going to miss you my father - please pray for me :'(

Your loving daughter - Dina

My deepest condolonces to Tasoni and family. Father Victor was an icon not only to St Mark's church but to anyone who knew him. He was a strong leader, shepherd, father and guide.

Abouna was not just a priest to me but a true father. He baptised me and was there from day one in my life. I have now lost two fathers in such a short time.

Abouna pray for us your children may our gracious Lord rest your soul in peace.
